Our Why is You
Now accepting new patients.
Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Wyderski knew from a very young age that he wanted to be a physician. He attended the University of Dayton (and remains an avid UD basketball fan) for his undergraduate education and selected the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine for his MD degree, residency, and fellowship training. He later received his Master of Medical Management degree from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business. Rich is certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics through the American Board of Internal Medicine.
After completion of his training, he cared for patients in private practice for 6 years. He then accepted a position as an Assistant Clinical Professor for the Wright State University School of Medicine Department of Internal Medicine, and later became an Associate Residency Program Director and was promoted to Clinical Professor. His love of educating and nurturing future physicians eventually led to a position as an Associate Professor at Wake Forest University Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC in 2011 where he practiced as a hospital physician and became the Director of Perioperative Medicine.
He was recognized in many ways during his tenure as a faculty member there:
Nominated multiple times by the residents for the Tinsley Harrison Teacher of the Year award.
Selected as the Medical Director of the Wake Forest University Davie Medical Center Acute Care for Elders (ACE) Unit.
Received with his team the Press-Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for patient satisfaction two years in a row, placing them in the top 5% of hospitals in the country and first among all North Carolina hospitals.
Elected by his colleagues to be named as a Best Doctor in America from 2015-2020.
Appointed as Affiliate Faculty to both the Wake Forest School of Medicine Office of Global Health and The Wake Forest Maya Angelou Center for Health Equity.
In 2019 the Wyderskis decided to make Vero Beach, the place where they were married a decade earlier, their permanent home. Dr. Wyderski joined Vero Internal Medicine with Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital where he built therapeutic relationships and provided excellent care to nearly 2500 patients. During this time Dr. Wyderski experienced the increasing demands placed on physicians by insurance companies, resulting in a high volume of patients and administrative work, and the loss of control of the patient-physician relationship, which led the couple to found Wyderski Health.
Dr. Wyderski and his wife have two miniature Schnauzers. He enjoys reading, cars, travel, rooting for the UD Flyers basketball team and spending time with his wife and their many friends and family.
Born in Richmond, Indiana, the youngest of four children, Karen decided early on to pursue nursing. Tired of cold winters, she attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Over her 39-year career as a registered nurse, Karen has practiced all kinds of nursing but found her passion once she found hospice. For her, it embraced the best of nursing. After years of bedside nursing, she then moved into administration, which led her to Vero Beach to be the Vice President and Director of VNA Hospice! She truly believed this was where she would finish her career; however, as fate would have it, she and her longtime friend, Rich Wyderski, fell in love when he came to visit! They married and moved to Arkansas, where Rich was working.
Karen is absolutely thrilled to be back living in Vero Beach! She wears many hats at Wyderski Health and looks forward to offering healing touch at their office, working with both members of the practice and the community. When Karen isn’t busy at the practice, she enjoys cooking, walking, reading, anything outdoors, time with their family and friends, and their two miniature Schnauzers.
Utilizing the artworks of local artist, Tracy Wheeler, our office is thoughtfully decorated to achieve harmony and balance, fostering peace and prosperity. Tracy’s unique pieces embody transformation, highlight change, and encourage us to be stewards of self and earth. In 2020 the winds of change moved her to Vero Beach, where she began ConqueringFifty, organic art on canvas. She hopes her pieces spark something in us all…bravery, healthy beginnings, and purposeful living. We truly hope you will savor what you see all around you when visiting Wyderski Health.
Most of Tracy’s beautiful artwork is available for purchase. Please ask for information at the front desk.
This was my first visit to Dr. Wyderski, and as a nurse, I'm positively impressed. He really listens, explains, empathize, and works to partner with patients to solve problems and maintain health.
Dr. Wyderski was the best doctor we've ever had. He's able to remember every detail from our lengthy complicated charts, and can instantly see how multiple medications interact. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the aging process, medications and side effects, pain control, and long list of other issues we older folks have.
An up to date, compassionate internist who is also a very good listener. Cares about his patients.
Dr. Wyderski is our Primary Care Physician. We are so pleased with him. He makes time for you (doesn't rush) during your office visit. He is a good listener about your concern. A very caring doctor! We are pleased to have him as our PC physician.
Dr Richard Wyderski is an exceptional physician. He combines his years of experience, knowledge, and professional competence with genuine interest in the well-being for each of his patients. On my visits we discuss all aspects of my health in a relaxed give-and-take manner. His exams are thorough and he listens to all of my concerns. In this time of medicine succumbing to corporations, Dr Wyderski truly exemplifies the value of the patient/physician relationships.
